Rick Perry’s Hardcore History of Investment in Porn
Here’s the story of how Rick Perry’s name became synonymous with “Teens with T*ts” in some circles. I’ve tried to make this safe for work, but if it’s not, blame Rick Perry.“Teens Never Say No” kind of pornography? How about “Teens with T*ts”? No? How about “Bisexual Barebacking Vol. 1” or “Big Tit Brotha Lovers 6”?
Kinda makes you all warm and family values-ish.
This article accuses Rick Perry of "theocratic beliefs," a charge that would require significant documentation. They offer none. It later becomes clear that the charge is solely based on his profession of Christianity, [a charge that could equally be leveled at Dr. Paul (my candidate)] because they hate Christians.
ReplyDeleteThey make the presumption that Perry was aware of and impervious to the porn videos in a video rental chain in which he held investment interest. There may or may not be a valid issue, there, but they haven't done the research to determine it one way or the other and one gets the impression they don't care. They quote the radically statist "Southern Poverty Law Center"as a legitimate source (!) and suggest that a "blind trust" is a way to hide known shady investments. It isn't. This is precisely the kind of guilt-by association technique that claimed Ron Paul was a supporter of prostitution and racism and anti-antisemitism. It is propaganda. Rick Perry needs to be seriously vetted and this bigoted left-wing hit piece wastes my time.
Good points. Some of the accusations are spurious at this point. However, the guy ought to know what he's putting his thousands into. If it was just a blind investment, why is AFA doing an about-face? They were trying to get this group investigated, but suddenly a cat's got their tongue. Why doesn't Perry join the AFA in condemning that distributor?
ReplyDeleteOTOH, where there's smoke, there's fire. There are enough accusations against Perry's marital fidelity to make Bill Clinton blush. Unproven thus far, but there's a reason such accusations cling to guys like Perry, but no one ever accuses Ron Paul of such things.

ReplyDeleteIn potentially even more damaging allegations, {{ Mr Perry is accused of signing into law bills that could have benefitted the pornography distributor. }}
'This is nothing different than a Blockbuster chain.' his campaign spokesman Mark Miner told the newspaper.
Really? Is his campaign manager really that clueless that he doesn't know the difference between Blockbuster and hard-core pornography?
The argument that tort reform would help pornography businesses is exactly the same argument as: "Ron Paul wants to help the rich by cutting taxes!" or "Ron Paul is a front for the Big Corporations because he wants to eliminate massive Federal Regulations!" Some good reforms would help everybody. Ending unconstitutional Federal Drug legislation would help drug dealers. But I'm surprised that you make the argument that there MUST be some truth to allegations against someone if they are repeated enough. By that standard Ron Paul MUST be racist (and an isolationist).

ReplyDeleteI didn't say there "MUST" be truth to the allegations of Perry's infidelity, but if I had to put money on it ...
